Anthony Otter (8 September 1896 – 9 March 1986) was the sixth Bishop of Grantham, from 1949〔Consecration Of Three Bishops Service In Southwark Cathedral The Times Wednesday, 19 October 1949; pg. 7; Issue 51516; col C〕 to 1965〔Bishop Of Grantham To Retire The Times Wednesday, 21 October 1964; pg. 14; Issue 56148; col E〕 He was educated at Repton and Trinity College, Cambridge.〔“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 After wartime service with the RNVR, he was ordained in 1926. His first post was as a curate at Holy Trinity, Marylebone.〔''Crockford's Clerical Directory 1975-76'' London: Oxford University Press, 1976 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 From 1931 to 1949 he was Vicar of Lowdham, rising in time to be an Honorary Canon of Southwell Cathedral and Dean of Stamford, Lincolnshire before elevation to the Episcopate.
